Celtic Wedding Bands - Ageless Symbols For Love and Commitment

An important part of a wedding ceremony is the exchanging of wedding bands. Often the placing of the wedding band on the bride and groom's left ring finger is accompanied by words that reflect vows of love and commitment. Although important, the exchange of wedding bands are only representations of something deeper and more meaningful that is being expressed between a couple that are expressing their wedding vows.

In addition, wedding rings can represent other aspects that marriage partners wish to bring to their marital union on their wedding day. For example, the wedding bands can represent the bride or groom’s heritage or may be a symbol of the legacy that they wish to gift to their family that is born out of their love. In addition, these ageless symbols may represent the timeless love that you have for each other. These are just a few examples of symbolism that can be found in Celtic wedding bands.

Heritage
Often, individuals are extremely proud of their heritage and ways of displaying that pride can often be seen during important ceremonial gatherings. For example, in a Hispanic or Filipino wedding ceremony a symbolic ritual that represents heritage is the lasso rosary. This beautiful ritual symbolizes the eternal love between the couple.

Another form of displaying heritage during a wedding ceremony is the wearing of clothing. This display of pride in one’s heritage can be seen when the man wears a kilt. This kilt can represent the Celtic pride that the man has in his ancestry.

An additional way of demonstrating heritage is through the exchange of wedding bands. One such way is through the presentation of Celtic wedding bands. Two specific Celtic wedding band designs are the trinity knots and the infinity symbol.

The trinity knot represents the two lives being united or tied together as one. Both lives separate and yet brought together in holy matrimony. The Celtic wedding band that contains the infinity symbol represents one love that is eternal.

Legacy
In addition to symbolically representing a couple’s love these Celtic wedding bands of fidelity can be passed on from generation to generation. This additional way of providing a heritage for future family members would allow for that legacy and heritage to be perpetuated.

Ageless Symbolism
The symbols of the Celtic culture that are captured on the Celtic wedding bands can be traced back in time over many centuries. What better way to represent the love of two individuals than by portraying ageless symbols that reflect an ageless and timeless love shared by two people.
