Choosing Your Wedding Ceremony Music

It is now time for you to determine the type of music that will be playing at your special day, so there are a few things that you will need to think about before you make your final choice. It is important that you decide on as your guests are waiting at the ceremony. There are a few options here, either a single singer or you can request a musician to play as you walk down the isle. The most important thing at the reception is that you keep the music tasteful, for all to enjoy. However, it is more than likely that your guest will be requesting the music that they want to hear.

The best time for you to plan the music for your wedding is immediately. Especially if you are getting married during a peak season in your area. Booking your requested talent might be nearly impossible if you hold off too long. If you are having a DJ play at the reception booking as soon as possible is crucial if you want to be sure you get the one you want. It is recommended hiring a DJ at least one year in advance of the wedding. This will give you enough time to discuss the music you prefer to have at your wedding reception.

If you are having an outdoor wedding ceremony, check into available electrical plugs in the area where your ceremony will be taking place. Also, in many cases the person in charge where the ceremony will be taken place might have specific guidelines for music that you will need to be sure are followed. Ask if there are any guidelines and where the outlets are that you will be allowed to use.

You really do not have to be overly picky about the music during the ceremony because it is only background music, and all of the focus of your guests will be on the bride and groom. The music is more or less used to avoid an awkward silence during candle lighting and the procession.

However, the music at the reception can mean the difference between having the reception memorable for all that attend and just another wedding reception attended. Making your reception one to remember can be a little nerve racking, though. In virtually no time at all you will notice just how many options are available for the entertainment at your reception. For the most part you will need to chose between live entertainment and a DJ.

You and your future spouse will need to come to an agreement on the type of music that will be played during the reception. Do you want the traditional songs played ? If you do, be sure that the hired person can play them, or if you do not want the traditional songs to be played be sure to tell the person so there is not any confusion. Which style of music would you prefer to dominate the reception? This is something that many couples do not put very much thought into. There are several types of music that you may or may not want played at your wedding. Be sure to make your wishes clear as to the type of music you want as well as the type you don’t want played at your reception.

It is much better to hire someone that has experience at weddings for your special day. An inexperienced person might not be able to satisfy your needs and expectations. You can easily check with the Better Business Bureau and see if there have been any complaints filed and check references of the entertainment you are planning to hire. Read the contract closely and carefully before you sign it, be sure that everything is correct and be clear about the number of hours the entertainment will be playing. It is also very important that you are clear on the refund and cancellation policies.
